Storytelling lies at the heart of Stan Unser‘s artistic practice. A retired physician based in San Antonio, Texas, Unser turned his focus to art after retiring from medicine in 2016, building on his earlier training in fine arts to develop a distinctive mixed-media approach.
Each work begins with an image that sparks a narrative. Through digital collage, image manipulation, photo transfer techniques, acrylic paint, mixed media, and layers of oil paint, Unser constructs complex compositions that blend figurative and abstract elements.
Represented by AnArte Gallery in San Antonio, Unser has exhibited throughout Texas and New York City. His work has received multiple awards across Texas, and more than half of his completed artworks are held in private collections.
In 2024, he was featured in The Bend Magazine in conjunction with an exhibition in Corpus Christi, highlighting his growing presence within the contemporary art community.
