Spanish artist Nora Pilarte creates paintings that move fluidly between abstraction and figuration, guided by imagination, memory, and personal experience. Working intuitively, she allows ideas, emotions, and visual impressions to develop organically, seeking harmony between color, form, and composition.
Pilarte works across multiple mediums, using watercolor for smaller pieces and acrylic and oil paint for larger formats. She often combines techniques within a single work, embracing experimentation while maintaining a balanced and expressive visual language.
Based in San Sebastián, Pilarte began exhibiting her work in 2022 and has since presented exhibitions in New York, Miami, Zürich, Monaco, and Barcelona.
She regularly exhibits in New York and collaborates with galleries in her hometown, including Ekain and La Central.
Beyond her studio practice, she is also an author and co-manages La Casa del Artista, the oldest fine art store in San Sebastián. Through her work, Pilarte invites viewers into a world shaped by intuition, emotion, and creative freedom.
