For Hudson Bruny, abstraction is a way of exploring what lies beyond the visible. Born in Haiti and now based in Indianapolis, Indiana, he creates paintings that blend structure and intuition, drawing viewers into spaces shaped by memory, possibility, and imagination.
Influenced by his background in architecture, Bruny builds compositions through lines, layered forms, and mixed media materials including acrylics, ink, spray paint, wax, and pastel crayons. His works move between order and spontaneity, balancing carefully constructed elements with moments of discovery that emerge during the creative process.
Since beginning his artistic journey in 1999, Bruny has developed a visual language centered on exploration and transformation. His work has been exhibited in Haiti and France and continues to evolve through his experiences in the United States.
A writer as well as a visual artist, Bruny approaches each painting as an open conversation rather than a fixed statement. Through abstraction, he creates spaces where curiosity, reflection, and hope can take shape, inviting viewers to imagine what may exist beyond the familiar.
