Megha Baran is a contemporary abstract and mixed-media artist based in Richmond, Virginia. Her work is characterized by vibrant color palettes, layered textures, and expressive mark-making that explore themes of memory, emotion, and human connection.
Working intuitively, Baran combines acrylics, collage elements, embossing techniques, found materials, and gestural marks to create richly textured surfaces.
Influenced by her cultural background and global experiences, she develops dynamic compositions that balance movement, energy, and introspection.
Baran has exhibited extensively in juried art festivals and group exhibitions throughout the United States, including New York, Washington, D.C., California, Oregon, and Kansas. Her work has also been featured at Superfair Brooklyn and ArtExpo New York.
In addition, her paintings have appeared in several national and international publications, including Artistonish Magazine, Love by Exhibizone, Book of the Arts by Gallerium, and Spotlight Magazine. Through her multidisciplinary approach, Baran continues to create immersive works that invite viewers into deeply personal yet universally resonant experiences.
