Poonam Gogia

Oil painting

Travel, memory, and color are the foundation of Poonam Gogia’s artistic practice. Inspired by years of exploring India, she creates oil paintings that celebrate the country’s landscapes, architecture, people, and rich cultural traditions through vibrant color and expressive brushwork.

A self-taught artist, Gogia developed her skills through years of independent study before continuing her artistic growth in an atelier alongside fellow painters. While refining her own technique, she also began sharing her knowledge by teaching other artists in New York, a role she has embraced since 2010.

Influenced by the bold palette and light of French Impressionism, Gogia combines observation with personal experience to create paintings that feel both familiar and deeply personal. Whether depicting bustling streets, quiet landscapes, or intimate portraits, she seeks to capture moments that inspire reflection and joy.

Her first solo exhibition in 2018 marked an important milestone in her career. Today, Gogia continues to expand her artistic practice, creating works that celebrate beauty, curiosity, and the lifelong journey of learning through art.
