Pasquale Lorina

Abstract painting

Pasquale Lorina is an Italian-American artist whose passion for painting began at just ten years old, when he first painted spun glass in his family’s glass business.

Surrounded by art and family tradition, Lorina grew into the world of Abstract Expressionism—a bold, emotional movement from the 1950s that allowed him to paint with complete freedom.

Inspired by artists like Willem de Kooning and the great painters of the Cedar Bar in Greenwich Village, Lorina creates vibrant, colorful works, inviting viewers to explore their imagination. In homage to that legendary gathering place of early Abstract Expressionists, his new 30 x 36 inch painting is titled The Cedar.

He lets each painting grow naturally, following the story the canvas wants to tell. His art invites reflection, encouraging viewers to lose themselves in swirling colors and shapes that spark imagination and memory.

For Lorina, painting is not just an act but a daily devotion. Even if only for fifteen minutes, he immerses himself in the process, believing that true artists live, dream, and breathe their work.

Through his paintings, he offers moments of escape from daily worries as a chance to find freedom, expression, and peace.
