Canadian artist Amir Sanatkar paints with a deep sensitivity to nature and its quiet beauty.
Beginning his artistic journey at 18, with encouragement from his father and art teacher, Sanatkar quickly discovered that landscapes held a language of their own. Their colors, spaces, and moments of stillness became central to his work—an influence that continues to shape his practice today.
Working primarily with oil on canvas, Sanatkar layers color and light to create paintings that feel both real and timeless. His attention to perspective and subtle shifts in depth draws viewers into calm, expansive scenes that invite reflection. Each work offers a moment of pause, encouraging the viewer to breathe, to remember, and to find comfort in stillness.
His exhibitions include The Nature of Iran (2012), a collaboration with his father, Four Seasons (2018), and his first solo project, Travel Exhibition at Twist Gallery in Toronto (2020).
With a background in both computer science and UX design, Sanatkar brings a remarkable sensitivity to how people connect with images and space. His art speaks gently but powerfully, offering peace in a fast-moving world.
