After spending 20 years working with marginalized communities and serving 13 of those years as a licensed psychotherapist, Kat Kleinman embraced art as a new way to heal, connect, and inspire.
Since 2016, she has dedicated herself to photography and collage, creating works that radiate positivity and invite viewers to pause, reflect, and feel uplifted.
Her signature floral collages begin with photographs she takes herself, carefully hand-cut into dozens of petals, leaves, or succulents. Each piece is built slowly, meditatively, until individual fragments transform into a unified composition.
For Kleinman, this process mirrors the act of healing—where broken parts come together to form something whole and beautiful.
“Art allows me to express my hope for the world,” Kleinman says. “I believe beauty and compassion can change how we see ourselves, and each other.”
Color plays a prominent role in her work, not only for its visual impact but for its power to influence mood and encourage connection. Whether through vibrant blooms or subtle organic forms, her collages are guided by one intention: to make people feel better, even for a moment.
