For Christine Meeks, painting is more than a passion—it is a way of honoring family, memory, and the power of creativity. Based in Roanoke, Virginia, Meeks creates abstract works filled with layered color, sweeping brushstrokes, and the glow of gold leaf.
Her canvases are alive with contrast—light and dark, stillness and movement, chaos and harmony—mirroring the emotions and rhythms of everyday life.
Meeks grew up surrounded by art. Her mother was a painter and her father a pianist, and their influence gave her an early love of expression. Today, she carries that legacy forward in her own work, pouring both energy and reflection into every canvas.
This October, Meeks’s art will be featured internationally in New York, I Love You at Agora Gallery in Chelsea, from October 8–14, 2025. The date is especially meaningful to her: the opening falls on her late parents’ wedding anniversary in New York.
For Meeks, sharing her work on that day is both a tribute to their creative spirit and a celebration of her own journey as an artist
