My approach to painting is the same as my approach to food. I need variety. It should be colorful and pleasing to the eye. I enjoy painting still life because it is predictable, and it challenges me to make an ordinary object feel extraordinary by drawing attention to it through color, texture, and line. At times, I push the limits of my imagination. Other times, I simply paint what is already there.

I do not eat the same thing every day, and I do not feel the same way every day. For that reason, I do not limit my palette to one approach or style. I have learned to be aware of the colors and shapes around me, and to bring what I see, or sometimes what I feel, onto the canvas.
