Sanusi Olatunji

Fabric collage art · Maryland

Sanusi Olatunji is a Yoruba collage artist from Lagos, Nigeria. Despite facing challenges in a community where art wasn’t widely embraced, Olatunji pursued his passion relentlessly. With a degree in art and a background in industrial techniques, he blends traditional and contemporary influences in his work. Specializing in fabric collage, he beautifully weaves stories of Africa and its children, advocating for recycling through his motto “Waste is wealth”. Now based in Maryland, he finds inspiration in both Nigerian heritage and global experiences. Olatunji’s work reflects his journey across Africa, with South Africa providing a platform to nurture his dreams.
