Alex Z. Wang

Oil painting

Alex Z. Wang ’s artistic journey is a testament to personal growth and introspection. Originally trained at Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, he rediscovered his passion for painting in his early twenties, self-teaching the nuances of oil painting. Moving to New York in 2014, Wang immersed himself in workshops at prestigious institutions like Parsons and Cooper Union, honing his techniques in oil, watercolor, and alcoholic ink. His art, influenced by Orphism and Neo-Impressionism, explores themes of light and subtlety, offering viewers a pathway to introspection and higher understanding. Wang’s work not only reflects his emotional journey but also seeks to bring strong emotions and new perspectives to viewers, which is his most gratifying experience as an artist.
