Paul Fraser

Drawing

Australian artist Taul Paul Fraser draws inspiration from his diverse experiences to create intricate abstract drawings that offer viewers a glimpse into his introspective world, conveying a sense of tranquility and interconnectedness. Influenced by his backpacking adventures in 1992 through Europe, including living on a deserted beach in Greece, Fraser began to make sketches while traveling, which he would later develop into larger pieces. Using watercolor and acrylic markers, Fraser taps into his subconscious, weaving layers of shapes and objects into subtle storytelling, a process that can take up to a whole year. Through an intuitive mechanism of memories and associations, Fraser uncovers the inherent correlation of all things, inviting us to take “a long calmer view.”
