Mirjeta Qehaja is a Kosovar artist, art educator, and human rights activist. Working primarily in acrylic, she paints canvases and murals that depict the intensity of the human condition. While inspired by feminist causes and Latin culture, she draws attention to pressing social issues using her art as a weapon to initiate change, while advocating for inclusivity and therapy through art for children with disabilities.
Qehaja has exhibited both locally and internationally. In addition to being devoted to her art practice, she serves on Kosovo’s consultative council of communities in the Presidency and owns an NGO called Muse Art, with the aim to inspire young artists through various activities. Qehaja was ranked as one of the 99 most successful women in Kosovo in 2019 when her photo was displayed on the Newborn Monument in Pristina and selected as Kosovo’s 10 most influential women as part of the Leading Women in Focus exhibition in 2024. In 2023, she represented Kosovo in Egypt at the International Art Forum. This year she held her 3rd solo exhibition in Switzerland and Kosovo called Melody of the Heart and soon she will bring the same one to Kentucky, USA.
