Spanish artist Consuelo Hernández embodies a lifelong passion for art deeply rooted in her family’s artistic heritage. Influenced by iconic Spanish masters and Italian Renaissance painters, Hernández’s realist style is anchored in portraiture and architecture, exploring themes of urban loneliness and social concerns. Working in oils, Hernández engages in a meticulous layering and preparation process, directing the focal point and atmosphere through expert manipulation of light.
From a young age, Hernández studied drawing and painting alongside Hispanic philology. Her work is celebrated internationally having obtained numerous international awards, including the Gold Medal for Artistic Achievement; and the Silver and Vermeil Medals in Paris. The artist has exhibited in numerous countries, including Spain, the United States, Morocco, Italy, France, Austria, and Romania. She is recognized as a representative artist of contemporary Spanish Realism.
