Julea Hope Boswell

Painting

Julea Hope Boswell, a Canadian artist, and former dancer, expertly channels her passion for movement and beauty into vibrant visual art.

Her upbringing on Canada’s east coast, surrounded by natural wonders, informs her work, which captures the energy and fluidity of nature, dance, and music. Her portfolio includes colorful, stylized interpretations of nature—particularly water—and purely abstract, lyrical compositions.

Boswell’s creative process is tactile and immersive, always involving painting with music. She skillfully paints on raw canvas using varied tools, including pieces of linen, cotton, and paper, to create and apply dynamic color blends and textures. Her bold use of fluorescent and metallic pigments adds energy to her mood-boosting pieces. Collaborating with performing artists, she draws inspiration from their creativity. Boswell’s art, driven by her belief in the unifying power of expression, offers joy and connection to its audience.
