My work has always been deeply tied to the landscapes and colors I’ve encountered through my travels. Those early days wandering the Italian countryside, discovering gardens, left a mark on me that’s never faded. It’s nature that stirs my creativity—not politics or theories. The process is where the magic happens, with meaning arising from the subtle play of colors and the delightful surprises that emerge along the way.
Art captivated me from the very start. I still remember learning through paint-by-numbers and those wonderful classes at the Little Red School House. Later, studying with remarkable artists like Henry Gorski and Bill Christenberry helped shape both my technique and my way of thinking about art. Over time, I’ve found my rhythm—painting not from direct observation but from memory, with oils, acrylics, and oil sticks as my tools. My pieces are textured, painterly, and often dance on the edge of magical realism.
