Sorin Bica is a contemporary artist based in Metro Boston. He is widely known for his bold abstract paintings and murals. Bica’s use of intense color and expressive figures are hallmark throughout his portfolio.
Bica is a native of Bucharest, Romania. As a child, he studied at Scoala Populara de Arta and became a political cartoonist early in his career. He relocated to the US in 1988 and studied art at Worcester State University as a minor.
Sorin is the founder and curator of Project B Gallery, a commercial art gallery whose primary mission is to bring the best original and fresh art to the local art lovers and collectors. It is located in The Mill Contemporary Art in the historic Saxonville Mills on the north side of Framingham.
Bica is a community leader. He is a celebrated public arts advocate, muralis,t and project coordinator. Bica has organized many exhibitions for students in the Framingham Public Schools system and Framingham State University.
He has participated in Art Week Boston, Street Pianos, SOWA Art Events, many gallery shows, downtown revitalization, and other charitable events.
