My work begins in darkness. I cover the surface in charcoal until it becomes an abyss, a void without form.
From that space I gently erase, pulling light into being. This process is not only technical but symbolic — creation born out of darkness, an allegory for the mysteries of existence. I am drawn to theology, philosophy, and the wisdom of ancient cultures.
These fields are not simply subjects of study but living voices that echo through my practice.
Each piece emerges as a riddle, layered with allegory and myth, inviting the viewer to contemplate what lies beneath the surface. My images are less about resolution than about questions — about holding space for wonder in a world that seeks clarity too quickly. The reductive process itself embodies tension.
Erasure is destruction, but it is also revelation. I remove darkness to reveal light, yet the darkness always remains. This balance mirrors the dualities that shape the human experience: life and death, knowledge and mystery, fragility and endurance. Charcoal, with its raw and elemental quality, feels essential to this pursuit.
It is the residue of fire, a material born of transformation, and it mirrors the themes of metamorphosis and rebirth that run through my work. In the end, my art is not about providing answers but about opening doors.
Each drawing is a passage into symbolic worlds where the viewer becomes a participant, deciphering meaning through their own imagination.
I want my work to serve as a reminder that light and beauty emerge most powerfully from the shadows, and that mystery is not a barrier to understanding but its most necessary companion.
