Robert Jordan creates sculpture as a quiet invitation. His work is non-objective and does not point to a single meaning. Instead, it allows space for emotion, memory, and personal reflection. Each piece encourages viewers to slow down and experience form, color, and movement in their own way.
A former scientist and engineer, Jordan is a self-taught artist whose practice grows from a deep understanding of materials and structure. His background informs a process where precision supports imagination, and where technical knowledge becomes a pathway to expression.
Jordan’s artistic journey began during the COVID-19 pandemic, shaped by isolation and a longing for connection. Early experiments transformed flat, two-dimensional shapes into layered three-dimensional forms. As the work evolved, tension and intrigue emerged through structure and contrasting colors.
Nature plays a central role in Jordan’s work. Organic patterns and spatial complexity influence both form and palette. He often reflects on the idea of curved space, a concept from cosmology that echoes the flowing presence of his sculptures.
Each work begins with paper studies and models, then moves into carefully engineered metal fabrication. Designed for both indoor and outdoor display, the sculptures can be realized in both small and large scales.
