Dita Jacobovitz's paintings are rooted in a sustained exploration of landscape, informed by decades of observation and engagement with the natural environments of northern Israel and northern Italy. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she uses familiar places as a point of departure, investigating how memory, perception, and time shape the experience of a landscape.
Rather than focusing on literal representation, Dita approaches painting as a process of interpretation. Her compositions draw from accumulated impressions, translating atmosphere, color, and visual rhythm into works that balance observation with personal reflection.
The same landscape may appear repeatedly throughout her practice, yet each painting offers a distinct response to changing conditions, experiences, and perspectives.
Color plays a central role in her work, serving as both a structural and expressive element. Through a painterly language developed over many years, Dita creates compositions that reflect an ongoing dialogue between place and experience.
Her work highlights the enduring presence of the landscape while exploring the ways it is continually reshaped through memory, attention, and time.
