Emilio Trad was born in 1953 in Buenos Aires. After graduating from the School of Fine Arts, he left Argentina to travel through Europe, enriching his artistic knowledge in major museums. In 1982, he settled in Paris where he still resides. Galleries began exhibiting his work after winning first prize for painting at the Paris Salon d’Automne in 1992. He also received top honors at the Grand Prix de Barbizon and the Taylor Foundation in Paris. His paintings have been showcased in Paris, Buenos Aires, Beirut, The Hague, Brussels, London, and Miami.
Besides his various exhibitions, Trad has had two solo exhibitions at Galerie Cheriff Tabet in 2017 and 2021. Galerie Cheriff Tabet held a solo exhibition for Trad in Paris in 2022, and his works were exhibited in February 2024 in New York at Agora Gallery.
While some consider Emilio Trad a classical painter due to his skill in drawing and color, his work evolves with each piece, reflecting contemporary sensibilities. His artistic approach is ever-evolving, constantly seeking novel visual expressions. In recent works, he masterfully integrates newspaper backgrounds and text fragments into his compositions.
