For over two years, photographer Clayton Rawson boarded the 37X bus from Bay Ridge to Manhattan, always choosing the same window seat. Every day, as the bus crossed the Brooklyn Bridge, he lifted his camera and captured the view — same structure, same angle, always a different sky.
The result is The Brooklyn Bridge: One-A-Day, a meditative photographic series selected as one of the Editorial Highlights of the 2025 Metropolitan Melodies competition, organized by New York Art Competitions (NYAC).
“Depending on the speed of the bus, I could get three to five shots each time. The bridge stayed the same, but the sky always changed,” Rawson recalls. Over 300 images make up this personal archive — a quiet act of discipline and artistic attention, turning a daily commute into a study of permanence and change.
