Mary Archibald

Atelier Natália Gromicho, Rua Nova da Trindade 5G, 1200-301 Lisbon, Portugal

Scottish artist Mary Archibald creates richly detailed pastel portraits that celebrate the beauty, character, and individuality of animals. Raised in the Scottish countryside, she developed a lifelong appreciation for wildlife and began her artistic journey in 2017 after sketching her dog, Yogi. What started in graphite soon evolved into a dedicated pastel practice, inspired by the medium’s warmth, depth, and ability to capture remarkable realism. Through careful layering and expressive detail, Archibald seeks to reveal the unique spirit of every animal she portrays.

Her work has been exhibited in the United Kingdom and internationally, earning recognition from Spotlight on Art in Paris and Circle Art in New York. She is also a member of the Association of Animal Artists (AAA) and PGE International. While continuing her career as a medical representative, Archibald remains committed to expanding her artistic practice and reaching new audiences.
