Sejal Krishnan

Sejal Krishnan is a textile and graphic designer whose creative practice has evolved into painting. With nearly two decades of experience in design, she has worked internationally as a design and development specialist and continues to work as a consultant in the United States. Her background spans print, pattern, and surface design, shaping the way she approaches color, composition, rhythm, and visual texture.

After years of working within the commercial design world, Krishnan began painting and experimenting with color in her spare time. Painting offered a more personal space for creative expression, allowing her to move beyond the seasonal and commercial demands of design and work with larger surfaces, expressive forms, and greater spontaneity. Over nearly two years and through three exhibitions, she developed the technique she uses today.

After living in France, Australia, Singapore, and the United States, Krishnan draws inspiration from the visual cultures and experiences encountered through her travels, as well as from her everyday surroundings. Sunsets, meadows, letters, and architecture become starting points for layered compositions, where color, splashes, drops, and delicate gold details come together to create expressive abstract works.

Krishnan’s paintings bring together her experience in print, pattern, and surface design with her personal artistic practice, creating space for emotion, memory, and individual interpretation.
