Robin Ahlgren Karlsson

Agora Gallery, 530 W 25th Street, New York, NY 10001

Stockholm-based artist Robin Ahlgren brings together his experience in interior architecture, design, and painting to create works focused on human relationships and emotional connection.

His creative journey encompasses time spent in Paris, architectural studies in Málaga, Spain, and a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture from Middlesex University in London

His professional work in hospitality, retail, and residential design, along with collaborations with brands including H&M Home, Paper Collective, and The Poster Club, has shaped his sensitivity to space, proportion, and composition.

Ahlgren’s paintings move between abstraction and figuration, presenting simplified human forms through expressive lines, fragmented shapes, and carefully balanced spaces. His figures often meet, overlap, or separate, reflecting themes of closeness, distance, vulnerability, and memory.

Influenced by Cubism, he combines geometric forms with earthy palettes and expressive tones. His work balances architectural structure with intuitive gestures, leaving space for viewers to bring their own experiences and interpretations to each composition.
