Poonam Gogia’s paintings begin with memory. Inspired by photographs taken during her travels throughout India, she brings landscapes, architecture, people, and everyday scenes to the canvas through bold color and expressive brushwork.

Working primarily in oils, Gogia draws from the visual language of French Impressionism while developing an approach shaped by her own experiences and connection to India.

Gogia is a self-taught artist who began developing her practice through independent study and experimentation. Her dedication to painting eventually led her to share her knowledge with other artists in New York.
