← New York, I Love You

Poonam Gogia

Agora Gallery, 530 W 25th Street, New York, NY 10001

The paintings in this exhibition are inspired by photographs I have taken over many years of traveling throughout India. The country's landscapes, architecture, people, and vibrant culture have left a lasting impact on me, shaping the core of my creative vision. Visually, my work draws heavily from French Impressionism, reflected in my use of bold colors, rich textures, and expressive brushstrokes. By blending the dynamic beauty of India with an Impressionist approach, I aim to create a visual language that is uniquely my own and reflective of my global perspective.

I am drawn to vibrant color, movement, and the rhythm of life, and those qualities naturally find their way onto the canvas. For me, painting is a form of meditation—a space to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with my inner voice. Every painting teaches me something new, serving as an invitation to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

My hope is that my work brings a sense of calm, joy, and inspiration to those who experience it. I continue to challenge myself with every new piece, trusting that the creative journey is every bit as meaningful as the finished canvas.
