Morgan Bok

Brooklyn-based painter and illustrator Morgan Bok brings a playful energy to scenes inspired by everyday life and the natural world. Her mixed-media practice combines painting with hand-drawn elements, creating works that feel personal, lively, and full of curiosity.

Bok’s connection to nature began in California and continues to shape her work today. After moving to New York, the energy and character of Brooklyn became another important source of inspiration. Her paintings reflect this relationship, bringing together the city, nature, and the simple joy of observing the world around her.

Her process begins with movement and gesture, as she uses her hands to work the paint across the surface. Layers of oil pastels, oil sticks, ink, and paint build texture and depth, while drawn details add an intimate, illustrative quality.

Bok studied at the University of Pennsylvania and previously worked in design and branding. She now works full-time as an artist in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
