Miki Goto

Agora Gallery, 530 W 25th Street, New York, NY 10001

Miki Goto’s art begins with an inward journey. Guided by Zen philosophy and her Japanese upbringing, she uses painting as a way to explore identity, presence, and the quiet connections that exist between all things.

Born in Mie, Japan, near Ise Shrine, Goto grew up with a strong awareness of spirituality and the world beyond what can be seen. This influence appears in her use of quiet forms, rich textures, and vibrant color. Her works create a space where viewers can pause, reflect, and look inward.

At the center of Goto’s practice is the question, “Who am I?” Rather than seeking a fixed answer, she allows the question to remain open, inviting each viewer to bring their own thoughts and experiences to the work.

Goto has exhibited across Japan and the United States, including New York, Tokyo, and Fukuoka, and has presented her work in Times Square as part of the Japan Contemporaries Series.
