Ivana Jakovljevic

Ivana Jakovljevic creates paintings that exist between the visible and the unseen. Her biomorphic abstractions draw from the inner world, where emotions, memories, and instinct can take form without the need for words.

Working intuitively, Jakovljevic allows organic shapes, texture, and movement to develop on the canvas. Her process moves between chaos and structure, giving each work a sense of tension and energy while leaving space for moments of calm.

Her background in wall painting and mixed media informs her sensitivity to scale and surface. Rather than directing the viewer toward a single meaning, Jakovljevic creates an open space for reflection and personal connection.

Based in Chicago, Jakovljevic holds an MFA in Wall Painting from the Faculty of Applied Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade. Her work has been exhibited at more than 40 national and international venues across Serbia and beyond.
