Guylain Mosoba

Agora Gallery, 530 W 25th Street, New York, NY 10001

Based in Paris, Abosom is a contemporary painter whose artistic journey began in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Born in Lingwala near the Academy of Fine Arts, he developed an early interest in visual art and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa.

His career has included painting, textile design, and large-scale public works. In 2000, Abosom created monumental frescoes for the swimming pool and gymnasium at the presidential residence in Kinshasa.

He also designed a Kitenge textile featuring a portrait of Joseph Kabila, which was produced and distributed by UTEXAFRICA. His work has since appeared in exhibitions, art fairs, and international art markets.

Today, Abosom lives and works in Paris, where his practice brings together African identity, spirituality, and universal human values.

Peace, hope, human dignity, and intercultural dialogue remain central to his artistic vision.
