Guylain Mosoba

From Kinshasa to Paris, Guylain Mosoba’s artistic journey has always carried a sense of connection.

Born in Lingwala, near the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, Guylain developed an early interest in visual art before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the same institution.

His career has since moved across painting, textile design, and large-scale public art.

In 2000, he created monumental frescoes for the swimming pool and gymnasium at the presidential residence in Kinshasa. He also designed a Kitenge textile featuring a portrait of Joseph Kabila, later produced and distributed by UTEXAFRICA.

Now based in Paris, Guylain continues to create work grounded in African identity, spirituality, and shared human values. Peace, hope, dignity, and intercultural dialogue remain central to his artistic vision, giving his work a perspective shaped by both cultural heritage and an international life in art.
