Art has been part of Donna Borgida’s life since her teenage years. She held her first solo exhibition at 18 and later studied fine arts, including a year at an art school in England, where she participated in a group exhibition in northern England.
After building a creative career in the textile industry, Borgida returned to painting full time several years ago. Since then, her work has been presented at galleries, art fairs, and international exhibitions, including Art Basel, Expo Milano, Swiss Expo, and Casa del Arte.
Borgida’s paintings are built around juxtaposition, gradation, and layering. Working with acrylic, resin, and mixed media, she brings contrasting textures, colors, and techniques together to create a sense of balance. Acrylic on canvas forms the starting point for many works, while resin and mixed-media elements add depth, dimension, and physical presence.
At the heart of her practice is the idea that differences can coexist. Through overlapping layers and contrasting elements, Borgida creates compositions that transform visual complexity into a feeling of calm and harmony.
