Daniel Haile

Daniel Haile approaches illustration as a form of visual storytelling. Influenced by comics, portraiture, cinema, and baroque art, he creates images that suggest a larger story beyond the moment shown.

His work often centers on people, using expressive figures, dramatic lighting, color, and composition to build atmosphere. As a deaf artist, Haile brings his own perspective to subjects including disability, discrimination, identity, isolation, and human connection. These themes are not treated as separate from the image, but as part of the stories he chooses to tell.

Haile’s interest in storytelling began in childhood, shaped by Saturday morning cartoons, comic books, and drawing. He later studied Illustration at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, where the program focuses on visual storytelling and image-making.

Today, Haile continues to work across traditional and digital media, using the image to bring overlooked experiences and personal stories into view.
