My thoughts are still full of my New York adventure and the wonderful experience of having my artwork exhibited in a lovely gallery in such a vibrant and edgy city!
I must say my whole experience of working with everyone at Agora Gallery has been very positive. Agora staff have shown a sympathetic and ‘pastoral’ attitude to us artists (which at times must seem like herding cats!), and this is combined with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail that is needed to put on successful shows.
I found it very interesting and stimulating to see the work of different artists from around the world – a sort of reality check for my own work – and lots of inspiration for future work.
I have to say that, spatially, the layout and lighting of the gallery is very sympathetic, in the sense that the work of individual artists can be ‘glimpsed’ as soon as you enter the gallery space from the elevator. This ‘entices’ you to explore the niches and alcoves where each individual’s artwork can be accessed fully.
All in all, I have come home with vibrant memories and an art experience that has jolted me out of my comfort zone and made me think of new paths for my art practice.
Many thanks to everyone at Agora Gallery for creating this opportunity for me.
